Description
A creamy, floral, and refreshing iced latte made with just five simple ingredients: espresso, oat milk, vanilla, culinary lavender, and ice. No fancy equipment required.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 shots espresso or 6 oz strong brewed coffee (chilled) or cold brew concentrate
- 1 cup oat milk (Barista Edition recommended)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon dried culinary lavender buds
- Ice cubes (as needed)
- Optional: 1-2 teaspoons simple syrup, honey, or maple syrup
- Optional: Lavender sugar for rimming
Instructions
- Brew espresso or strong coffee. If using hot coffee, let it cool to room temperature for 2-3 minutes to prevent melting the ice too quickly.
- Add the dried lavender buds to the hot coffee (or hot water) and steep for 3-5 minutes. Do not steep longer than 5 minutes to avoid bitterness.
- Strain the coffee into a mason jar, discarding the lavender buds.
- Add the oat milk, vanilla extract, and a handful of ice cubes to the jar.
- Screw the lid on tight and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the mixture is frothy and cold.
- Fill a serving glass with fresh ice cubes. Optionally rim the glass with lavender sugar.
- Pour the shaken oat milk mixture over the ice.
- Garnish with a sprinkle of dried lavender and serve immediately.
Notes
Use culinary-grade dried lavender, not potpourri. If using hot espresso, ensure it is cooled before adding ice. For a smoother taste, use cold brew concentrate. Shake well to create a creamy, frothy texture. The drink can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days (without ice), but shake again before drinking.
