Description
A simple, refreshing iced espresso drink made with brown sugar and creamy oat milk, perfect for a quick caffeine boost without dairy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 shots espresso (about 60ml / 2 fl oz)
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar (about 8g)
- ½ cup oat milk (120ml / 4 fl oz)
- 1 cup ice cubes (240ml / 8 fl oz)
- Optional: ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Pull two shots of espresso (about 2 minutes). If no espresso machine, brew very strong coffee or dissolve 2 teaspoons instant espresso powder in ¼ cup hot water.
- While espresso is hot, stir in 2 teaspoons brown sugar until fully dissolved.
- Pour sweetened espresso into a shaker or mason jar. Add 1 cup ice cubes. Seal and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to chill and froth.
- Fill a tall glass halfway with fresh ice cubes. Pour shaken espresso over ice, then top with ½ cup oat milk. Stir gently to combine. Add vanilla extract to oat milk before pouring if using.
- Serve immediately with a straw or spoon and enjoy.
Notes
Use fresh espresso for best flavor. Shake vigorously with ice to create froth and chill quickly. Adjust brown sugar to taste. Barista-style oat milk froths better and is creamier. Brew espresso in advance and store refrigerated up to 24 hours if needed. Reheating not recommended; make fresh for best taste.
