Description
A luxurious, airy salted caramel cold foam topping for iced coffee that is easy to make at home with simple ingredients like heavy cream, brown sugar, and vanilla.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (at least 35% fat)
- 2 tablespoons whole milk
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon caramel sauce (optional)
- Ice cubes
- 1–2 cups cold brew or strong iced coffee
Instructions
- Chill a mixing bowl in the fridge for 10 minutes (optional but helpful).
- Pour heavy cream and whole milk into the chilled bowl.
- Add brown sugar, vanilla extract, sea salt, and caramel sauce (if using).
- Whisk or beat the mixture on medium-high speed for 2-3 minutes until stiff peaks form.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour cold brew or iced coffee over the ice.
- Gently spoon the cold foam over the back of a spoon onto the coffee to create distinct layers.
- Garnish with a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt and serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure cream is very cold for best whipping results. Do not overbeat or the cream may turn to butter. The foam can be made up to 2 hours ahead and stored in the fridge. Use high-quality vanilla extract for better flavor.
