Description
A simple, budget-friendly copycat recipe for a creamy iced caramel macchiato that requires only four main ingredients and takes about 10 minutes to make.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 shots espresso (60ml)
- 1 cup milk (240ml)
- 2–3 tablespoons caramel syrup
- 1 cup ice cubes
- Optional: ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: Whipped cream
Instructions
- Brew two shots of espresso and let it cool for 5 minutes to prevent melting the ice.
- Add 2 tablespoons of caramel syrup to the bottom of a tall glass and smear it up the sides with the back of a spoon.
- Fill the glass ¾ full with ice cubes.
- Pour the cold milk over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
- Slowly pour the cooled espresso over the back of a spoon into the milk to create distinct layers.
- Drizzle another tablespoon of caramel syrup on top of the espresso layer.
- Stir everything together before drinking to combine the caramel, milk, and espresso.
Notes
Ensure the espresso is cooled before pouring to maintain layers. Use cold milk for the best texture. For a dairy-free version, substitute oat milk or almond milk. You can make homemade caramel syrup by melting sugar, then whisking in heavy cream and butter.
